About Helenium Clinic

Helenium Clinic is led by Jola Kaczmarek, BA, BA, MNIMH, Dip Phyt, a Clinical Medical Herbalist.

I was drawn to medical herbalism after experiencing its impact firsthand, both as a child and later in adulthood, when I was faced with a persistent respiratory condition.

The nuanced synergies of plant compounds in herbal formulations, combined with a deep understanding of human physiology and pharmacology, can achieve real results for people.

This practice also has a deep ecological dimension, placing us back into reciprocal relationship with plants and asking us to see ourselves as part of the nature we depend on for our health.
I believe herbal medicine is a true gift - one that supports not only personal healing, but a deeper sense of belonging: to nature, and to one another.

Philosophy

Every symptom tells a story.

I take time to understand what's driving your health concerns - the patterns and triggers that point to where imbalance is rooted.
From here, we follow how your body is responding to the herbal formulation, and where we can tweak for better results.

Rooted in sustainability

For you and the planet, every formulation is made with organically grown plants, ethically sourced if they come from further afield.

Credentials

Approach

I practise clinical herbal medicine as an evidence-informed healthcare, working alongside conventional treatment or as a standalone approach. I bring together traditional herbal knowledge with modern phytochemical research and deep understanding of how body systems connect and influence each other.

Clinical Expertise

With in-depth knowledge of over 150 medicinal herbs and their specific, often synergistic actions, I formulate individualised prescriptions tailored to each person's unique biochemistry and health picture. I look at how imbalances develop over time and which processes in your body need support to restore health.

Training and Professional Standards

I am a degree educated medical herbalist, bringing experience from UK clinics and pre-hospital emergency care where I completed 700 hours of clinical training. I practised with leading educators in both herbal and conventional medicine.

I regularly engage with the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy (CPP), and am a member of College of Medicine and Integrated Health, and the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH) - one of Europe’s oldest professional herbal medicine bodies. I adhere to rigorous professional, ethical, and safety standards in clinical practice.

I am often invited to speak at conferences and events, where I discuss various health conditions and how they can be supported by plant medicine.
